Summer 2025 Ridden Training
My journey began at local horse shows where friends were competing, standing at the side of the ring with a camera, attempting to capture images for them while teaching myself through practice. Working from outside the ring presented challenges, particularly in timing, positioning, and capturing clear, well-composed images, but those early experiences became a valuable foundation for my development.
At the time, I had limited understanding of camera settings, lenses, or the technical decisions that could improve the quality of my images. Much of my learning came through experimentation, persistence, and observing others with greater experience. Over time, through years of practice and guidance from knowledgeable mentors, I have developed those early interests into a professional practice in equine photography.
What began as a personal passion has since become both a profession and an ongoing creative pursuit. While I now work professionally within equine photography, I continue to learn, refine my approach, and experiment with new ways of photographing and editing, always looking for ways to develop my visual style further.
The images shown here are a selection of photographs captured over the summer of 2025, reflecting my continued efforts to define and develop my practice within this field and within the sport.
